Consumer Products Category Manager BLX & Nordics

 

Is this the role for you?

The Category Manager is responsible for running the licensing activities related to the appointed categories within Paramount’s Consumer Products team based in Amsterdam. This role involves handling licensees, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. The individual will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Product Development, Marketing, Finance, Operations and BALA, as well as external partners, to drive revenue growth and brand visibility through licensed products in the Benelux and Nordics.

 

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities:

● Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies for growing the licensing programs for dedicated product categories in the Benelux and the Nordics, including identifying new market opportunities and optimizing existing partnerships to meet budgets.

● Partnership Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with appointed licensees, master toy companies, agencies and retailers in ensuring alignment with the company's commercial goals.

● Contract Management: Lead negotiations of licensing agreements and optimally process these agreements from the beginning till the end with all partners involved like BALA, Finance, Franchise, Operations and others.

● Financial Analysis: Track and analyze financial performance metrics related to licensing revenue, royalties, and expenses for the appointed categories and markets, providing insights to improve decision-making and optimizing ROI.

● Marketing Support: Partner with the marketing team to develop promotional initiatives and campaigns to drive awareness and sales of licensed products at retailers.

● Product Development Support: Work closely with product development teams to guide the creation of licensed products that resonate with target consumers and align with brand positioning.

● Compliance Oversight: Monitor licensee activities to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and brand guidelines.

 

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

● Previous experience in licensing.

● Strong negotiation skills and eye for business, with a consistent track record of successfully closing licensing deals.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and handle relationships with internal and external partners.

● Critical thinking and analytical capabilities, skilled in analyzing market trends, financial data, and consumer insights to inform decision-making.

● Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to licensing and intellectual property rights.

● Proficiency in English; additional language is a plus.
