GL Accountant (Leave Cover >12 months)

We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Accounting Specialist to support Paramount’s international businesses. In this role, you’ll be responsible for a range of accounting and reporting matters, with a primary focus on account reconciliation. You will ensure timely and accurate reporting in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
What will you be doing?
- Perform daily accounting activities and ensure accuracy across financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for areas including:
- Intangible amortization.
- Fixed assets.
- Accruals.
- Open items clearing.
- Interest income and expense.
- Non-title allocations.
- Prepaid amortization.
- Employee benefits, payroll and pension accounting.
- Inter/intra-company and FX clearing.
- Financial lease accounting.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for designated entities.
- Complete reconciliations using the reconciliation tool for:
- Balance sheet accounts.
- Intercompany confirmations.
- Payroll and fixed assets.
- Conduct P&L analysis and reporting (title and non-title based).
- Support preparation of annual statutory accounts and audit processes.
- Produce statistical and ad hoc reports for various territories.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–5 years of experience supporting accounting functions in a global organization.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in SAP Financials and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Experience with intercompany accounting, payroll, employee benefits, interest income/expense recognition.
- Strong reconciliation capabilities and understanding of audit standards and documentation requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and self-motivated approach to improvement initiatives.
- Experience working under fast paced environments.
- Confirmed ability to conduct detailed research and deliver results-driven recommendations.
