Is this the right role for you?

  • As a Senior Programming Coordinator, you'll play a key role in shaping how MTV airs its content across various programming platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Executing short-term content programming across multi-language channels, including both commercial and non-commercial Global MTV long-form channels.
  • Managing the scheduling system "What’s On," including schedule preparation, break structures, episodic planning, and publishing EPG information.
  • Overseeing daily schedule logs, conducting reviews, and providing feedback to optimize content placement for performance and flow. You’ll maintain strong collaboration with the Channel Operations team.
  • Supporting media planning, marketing, consumer products, press, and sales departments worldwide with programming information.
  • Collaborating with the language localization team to ensure content availability in all required languages in a timely manner.
  • Working with Programmers and the Head of Department to analyze content usage across channels and languages, using "What’s On" as a tool.
  • Keeping overviews of special shows and stunts up to date.
  • Assisting in updating presentations that showcase our latest programming rollouts.
  • Providing ad hoc support to our international Music Channel team.
  • Training junior team members as needed.

Why we want you:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in media, planning, economics, business administration, or public administration—or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience.
  • You bring at least 3 years of experience in content or media programming.
  • You have a strong affinity for youth culture and, ideally, some familiarity with the youth television market.
  • You understand the evolving landscape of television and content.
  • You possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • You’re highly organized with great attention to detail and time management skills.
  • You excel in customer service, particularly in managing expectations from brand managers.
  • You can perform well under pressure, adept at reprioritizing tasks and applying media thinking and best practices with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; a second language is a plus.
