FREELANCE PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of broadcast operations and news production workflow, with experience in ENG Receive and Studio Technician roles. We are looking for someone who is team focused with a collaborative attitude, dependable, has a calm and positive demeanor. This person must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ENG RECEIVE:
-Establishing live feeds and recordings
-Assigning and faxing comms with field crews
-Transmitting feeds to other affiliates or the Network
-Routing and coordinating live sources with the Director
-Troubleshooting technical issues
STUDIO TECHNICIAN:
-Pre-show testing and general maintenance of studio wireless equipment (mics, IFB, video system)
-Equipment distribution and proper technical operation
-Running teleprompter
-Liaison between ELC Operator and Talent
-Floor directing during live productions and studio recordings
-All aspects of this position require general computer knowledge
-Ability to accept direction from multiple sources while maintaining focus on tasks
-Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
-At least 3 years of experience in television broadcast and studio operations.
-Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
-Must be physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
-Must be able to lift/move fifty pounds
-Must be willing to train as a Technical Director to fill in for other positions as needed.
