Manager, Public Policy & Government Affairs

 

Is this the role for you?

Reporting to the Senior Director PPGA EMEA, the Manager undertakes a range of PPGA activities across the EMEA region. They assist all members of the PPGA Team (the ‘team’) on specific European policy issues, coordinate and undertake outreach to all Brussels stake-holders, and participate in trade association work.


What you will be doing - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Specific policy responsibilities (50% of time)

The Manager is responsible for supporting the team on specific areas of policy work as directed by the Senior Director PPGA Europe. These include AVMSD matters including advertising and quotas, IP and enforcement, privacy, AI, Network Fees, Digital and Consumer policy, Sustainability, subject to the candidate’s experience. The team will meet in London or Brussels on a regular basis. Additional travel may be required based on policy priorities.

 

Handling key trade body relationships (25% of time)

The Manager engages with the team’s trade body partners, attending meetings, sharing papers and capturing business input to respond to consultations. This includes WFA (World Federation of Advertisers), the ACT (Association of Commercial TV and VOD Services in Europe), the European VOD Coalition and EGTA (European trade association of TV and radio advertising sales houses).

 

Public Affairs and Political outreach (25% of time)

The Manager leads outreach to all Brussels-based stakeholders, including events, lunches and meetings, along with other team members. They are also responsible for drafting briefing papers and liaising with internal colleagues and consultants to prepare materials for external distribution. 


What we are looking for - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Brussels-based.
  • 5 years of prior Government/Public Affairs experience. 
  • Established political and policy network. 
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant policy areas a plus but not essential. 


NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal). 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to partner with external contacts and to build strong political and commercial relationships. 
  • Strong team work ethic, comfortable working in a collaborative environment with other corporate departments at Paramount. 
  • Politically Savvy. 
  • Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word and PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to speak at least two EU languages, including English. 


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree.
