Senior RtR Accountant – Cash & Banking

Contract Type: Initial 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract (with intended 1-year extension, 1+1 model)

Location: Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)

Reports to: Record to Report (RtR) Team Lead / Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior RtR Accountant – Cash & Banking to join our Record to Report team in Budapest on an initial 1-year fixed-term basis, with a planned extension for a second year.

In this hands-on individual contributor role, you will be responsible for end-to-end cash accounting, daily and monthly bank reconciliations, cash clearing, and supporting month-end close activities across Skydance (previously Paramount) entities. This role is ideal for a proactive General Ledger or Cash Accountant who enjoys operational accounting, keeping balance sheets clean, and partnering daily with operational teams like Treasury, P2P, and O2C.

What You’ll Do

This is an operational, execution-focused accounting role where you will directly handle day-to-day reconciliations and general ledger tasks:

  • Cash Accounting & Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multi-currency accounts. Investigate, trace, and resolve unallocated cash items and open clearing balances.

  • Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Prepare, post, and review standard cash-related journal entries, bank charges, interest postings, and intercompany cash settlements in line with US GAAP / IFRS.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise directly with Treasury, Accounts Payable (P2P), Accounts Receivable (O2C), Payroll, and local finance teams to resolve daily transactional discrepancies and operational queries.

  • Internal Controls & Audit Support: Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance documentation for all cash processes. Assist internal and external auditors by pulling sample documentation, bank statements, and preparing standard audit workpapers.

  • Process Improvement: Support process standardization and rule configuration for automated cash clearing in ERP and reconciliation platforms as workflows transition into our GBS model.

  • Team Knowledge Sharing: Act as a go-to operational contact for complex reconciliation cases and support onboarding or mentoring junior accountants within the team.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience in General Ledger (GL), Cash & Banking, or RtR within a multinational corporate or Shared Services (SSC/GBS) environment.

  • Technical Accounting: Solid practical understanding of US GAAP or IFRS, particularly around balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and cash cut-off principles.

  • Systems & Tools: Hands-on experience with major ERP systems (SAP preferred) and cash reconciliation tools (e.g., BlackLine). Proficient Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, sumifs).

  • Work Style: Hands-on mindset, structured problem-solving approach, high attention to transactional detail, and ability to meet strict month-end deadlines.

  • Languages: Professional working proficiency in English (B2/C1, written and spoken).

  • Contract: Willingness and availability to commit to an initial 1-year fixed-term contract with an expected 1-year extension.

  • Work Authorization: Must hold valid, unrestricted work authorization for Hungary (please note that visa sponsorship or relocation assistance is not available for this role).

Why Skydance (Previously Paramount)?

You’ll be joining a creative, global media powerhouse where your analytical skills help protect and propel the business forward. We value team members who enjoy getting into the numbers and building reliable, scalable ways of working.

What We Offer:

  • Health & Wellness: Private health insurance with private clinic access, annual health screening packages, and eyewear support.

  • Financial Flexibility: Monthly cafeteria plan featuring SZÉP card options, nursery support, and home loan assistance.

  • Office Perks: Fresh fruit delivered weekly, cross-team social events, and a dog-friendly office.

  • Growth & Culture: Company-sponsored language courses (post-probation) and exclusive pre-premiere movie screenings before official releases.

Note for Internal Applicants: Moving to a fixed-term assignment does not impact your permanent contract status. You will retain employment continuity and return to your previous or equivalent role upon completion.
