What You’ll Do:
The Director of Production & Technology Strategy is responsible for driving continuous improvement projects that support Nickelodeon Animation Studio production workflows across all series and streaming productions. This includes any and all possible aspects of projects that help facilitate increased efficiency and lower operating costs of production, internally within production and technology departments and externally with outside vendors. This role requires a problem solver who can present innovative ideas and have an impact on savings for each project.
Responsibilities Include:
· As a key production and technology leader in the studio, this role will operate as a consultant and an advisor working across the company on production workflows and technology software. Will ensure all endeavors contribute, support, and improve efficiency of production and the pipeline. Will bring forward knowledge of new technologies, techniques, and processes that will benefit the studio's production pipelines for current and future projects.
· Lead analytical studies targeting internal process improvement. Actively partners with all departments to determine solutions to unique challenges for each series or movie that help achieve its vision. Consult and advise on technical road maps, software, pipeline improvements, and tools to optimize production pipelines to meet evolving business goals.
· Communicate consistently and effectively with studio senior management to identify new projects that increase production efficiency for departments and the studio.
· Recommend courses of action and options that provide optimal cost / benefit. Provides regular updates and reports to studio management on outstanding projects.
· Build and foster relationships with the external vendor studios, keeping abreast of their pipeline advancements and challenges.
· Partner with producers, VFX/CG supervisors, production management, department heads, technical staff, and artists to define production and technology workflows to meet the needs of production, both internally and with external vendor studios.
· Able to build relationships at all levels in the organization and translate and advocate for technical needs onto other team’s roadmaps and priority lists.
· Continually shape and develop the teams’ skills based on business goals.
· As productions start up, establish best practices and consistency for optimal operation for the duration of the shows. Work with show managers and leads to determine show-specific needs and implement plans.
· Identify training needs for shows in respect to new production processes or technology.
· Mentor the production and technology staff, increasing their leadership skills, production knowledge, and collaboration.
Basic Qualifications You Bring:
· Bachelor's degree in related field and or equivalent professional experience.
· 8+ years' experience in related processes of production management, technology management, or project management showing strong career progression.
· 5+ years of successful Supervisory/Lead/Management experience
· Knowledge of PMI Software Engineering methods, tools, and measurements such as Agile or Scrum experience working to balance multiple outside interests.
· Experience with, and understanding of, the fundamentals of production pipelines, production technology concepts and programming languages.
· Familiarity with major 3D animation packages (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, etc).

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentations skills and the ability to readily communicate complex technical issues and concepts to nontechnical peers and executives.

· Ability to relate to, and effectively communicate with, all levels of employees in a professional and appropriate manner regardless of the circumstances.
· Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, matrixed environment with constantly shifting demands and priorities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $175,000.00 - 200,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
