Overview:

The Pluto TV Partner Marketing team is looking for a Manager to own how partner-owned IP shows up across Pluto TV marketing. This is a player-coach role: you'll manage senior-level partner relationships and own outcomes across a portfolio of campaigns, while staying hands-on when high-stakes or time-sensitive work demands it.

Beyond marketing leadership, you'll oversee governance for third-party assets and approvals. Internally, you'll be the connective tissue across Creative, Social, Communications, Lifecycle, and Programming, and a go-to resource on partner marketing strategy and performance. You may also mentor coordinator-level talent.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned partner or content marketer, equally comfortable at the strategic level and in operational details, with solid judgment, sharp negotiation instincts, and the ability to advance multiple complex programs forward under shifting deadlines.

This is an on-site position based at our Burbank, CA office.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Partnership Strategy & Relationship Management
  • Own and grow relationships with third-party IP owners and partners as a key point of contact for the partner marketing portfolio.
  • Set strategy for leveraging partner IP; lead co-marketing initiatives that balance brand goals, partner needs, and mutual value.
  • Lead and negotiate approvals and usage terms; partner with legal to shape rights frameworks and address IP questions.

IP & Asset Governance
  • Maintain and optimize the governance framework for creative asset and campaign approvals across internal teams and IP owners.
  • Set and uphold IP usage standards; oversee usage playbooks (day-to-day upkeep via coordinator support where available).

Campaign Strategy & Execution
  • Lead select partner-driven campaigns and tentpole programs from strategy through delivery, owning timelines, trackers, and approvals.
  • Ensure approved assets and IP usage information flow to the right stakeholders. Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
  • Drive alignment across Creative, Social, Communications, Lifecycle, Programming, and Production; lead key discussions and drive follow-ups.
  • Mentor coordinator-level team members, delegating detail work while holding a high quality bar.
  • Own operational infrastructure (calendars, trackers, status reporting, shared drives) at a strategic level; build executive-ready decks and recaps.

Measurement & Insights
  • Partner with the Director on measurement approaches and success metrics for select campaigns.
  • Lead post-campaign analyses and translate learnings into recommendations; track industry trends for growth opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6–8 years in marketing, entertainment, media, or advertising, including ownership of partner/brand marketing programs.
  • This role requires occasional travel, as business needs dictate.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience managing external partner/IP relationships, including approvals and usage terms.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Robust strategic thinking with hands-on flexibility.
  • Experience working with internal legal teams on business matters.
  • Mentoring or management experience.
  • Extraordinary communication and negotiation skills.
  • Solid organization across multiple complex projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Background in entertainment, streaming, media, or consumer brands.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (Airtable, Monday.com, Asana, etc.) and AI tools (Claude, Gemini).
  • People management experience.
