We are thrilled to announce that we are currently seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our mobile engineering team on iOS! This presents a unique and great opportunity for an individual with a natural inclination for problem-solving to work directly on enhancing the video streaming experience of our expanding mobile customer base.
As a member of this team, you will have the chance to lead a team through the completion of complex and interesting problems in a fast-paced and highly coordinated environment. You will have the opportunity to influence the future of architecture decisions along with other managers and the rest of the team. We pride ourselves on constantly evaluating and adapting the latest and greatest on the iOS/tvOS platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of success leading and inspiring a team of iOS developers, experience with native app development on iOS/tvOS platforms, and an eagerness to continuously improve their skills and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in mobile engineering.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Lead the delivery of top-quality tvOS and iOS native applications
- Collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features
- Work closely with your team to ensure the timely delivery of features and improvements
- Promote good business practices in a positive and constructive manner
- Cultivate a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Explore, evaluate, and implement new technologies to optimize development efficiency and productivity
- Oversee the implementation of upgrades, rebuilds, and additional porting of applications
- Successfully handle various tasks and projects in a performance-focused setting
- Evaluate opportunities to bring new technical features to mobile users
- Develop technical requirements documentation based on product requirements
- Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues, customers (internal and external), and company management
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of iOS development experience, including 1 year of leadership experience.
- Excellent programming skills in Swift, including a deep understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
- In-depth knowledge of the iOS platform and a strong familiarity with Xcode and related tools.
- Sound programming fundamentals, with experience working on memory management, multi-threaded programming, and animations.
- Experience working on UI design for all size-classes using storyboards and xibs.
- A proven track record of supplying to the development of at least one publicly released native iPhone application.
- Experience in consuming RESTful APIs to connect with back-end services.
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and experience working in a fast-paced, coordinated team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and able to work well with non-technical members of the development team.
- A willingness to assist others in a technical capacity and mentor less experienced developers.
- Strong problem-solving and architectural skills, with the ability to design and implement elegant, scalable solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities and able to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
Additional Qualifications:
- A BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Background supporting the integration of rich media assets, including video, into mobile properties.
- Experience integrating ad-serving products and analytics/reporting tools in building iOS apps.
- Continuous Build & Test Automation experience.
- Experience working with entertainment, games, news, or sports-related properties is helpful.
- Understanding of streaming video and DRM concepts.
- Knowledge of Localization practices and concepts in Xcode.
- Experience with Swift Package Manager.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $139,200.00 - 200,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
