Cowboys!  Rangers!  Stars!  CBS KTVT/KTXA in Fort Worth, seeks an exceptional Director of Broadcast Operations & Engineering to join our fast-paced news team to lead our IT, broadcast, and maintenance staff. If you possess exceptional IT and broadcast technology skills and understand the interrelationship of both, then we are looking for you!

  • Extensive knowledge of all broadcast systems, including but not limited to RF/Transmitter/antenna Systems, News Gathering, Streaming, Control room automation
  • Mange and understand evolving technologies and systems is necessary
  • Adept at budgeting, capital forecasting and non-technical administrative work
  • Maintain procedures and standards for operation, maintenance of equipment, and studio operations
  • Proactive manager who understands the complexities of the role and who is as dedicated to the administrative side of the room as they are to the technical side
  • Prioritize a balance of hard and soft skills, as we prioritize workplace culture
  • Prepare to demonstrate a record of collaborative work with fellow leaders and direct reports to drive change


Preferred Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electronics/electrical engineering preferred and a minimum of ten (10) years broadcast engineering experience required
  • Previous work as a director or assistant director of engineering preferred
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and AutoCAD software a must
  • SBE certification is desirable
  • Knowledge of television transmitters and RF facilities a plus
  • Possess strong attention to detail, accuracy and strong organization and leadership skills
