OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re looking for a Director, Participations Ultimates & Deal Analysis to join our team and play a key role in shaping how we evaluate, model, and manage participations across our television portfolio for CBS Studios, CBS Entertainment and Nick Studios. In addition, this role will lead the development of greenlight models for scripted, unscripted, and digital-first projects, ensuring executives have the insights needed to make data-driven decisions that balance creative ambition with financial rigor. This role blends finance, deal analysis, and critical thinking to help drive strategic decision-making around talent agreements, partnerships, and distribution opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

-  Oversee the modeling of participations and residual ultimates across the TV slate, incorporating complex deal terms and evolving guild/union requirements.

-  Maintain ongoing participation & residual forecasts to ensure accurate cash flow and P&L planning.

-  Partner with Business Affairs, Legal, Labor Relations, and Creative to evaluate new deals with talent, producers, and distributors.

-  Act as the go-to expert on participations & residuals for the CBS Studios Finance org.

-  Support greenlight and investment decisions for new TV projects with the design and presentation of detailed greenlight models, including revenue forecasts, cost structures, participations obligations, and ROI analyses.

-  Simplify complex models in order to generate clear and concise financial recommendations.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-  10+ years of experience in participations for a Studio, network or streamer

-  Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field

-  A deep understanding of TV talent agreements, participations & backend definitions, and residual structures

-  Strong modeling and Excel skills; comfort with complex data and translating it for non-financial audiences


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
-  MBA preferred; CPA a plus

-  Entertainment finance, deal analysis or related experience a plus

-  A strategic approach with the ability to see the big picture, balanced with strong attention to detail

-  Clear communicator who can collaborate across creative, legal, and financial teams

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $135,000.00 - 150,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
