The Vice President, Advertising is a senior executive leader responsible for driving revenue growth, client innovation, and strategic sales development across Paramount’s multi-platform ecosystem. This role leads a high-performing sales team, serves as a senior partner to top-tier clients, and fosters cross-functional collaboration across ad products, research, and marketing. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep industry expertise, a passion for media, and a track record of delivering results.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead national sales efforts across broadcast, cable, streaming, commerce, and social platforms, with a deep expertise in programmatic and CTV advertising with a consultative, solutions-driven sales approach as well as a focus on integrated marketing, audience targeting, and advanced advertising solutions.
  • Programmatic is a fast-moving space and is a crucial component of Paramount’s Streaming offering. It’s imperative to stay ahead of industry trends by actively engaging in events, training, and trade publications.
  • The VP of Advertising must be able to confidently lead a team and lead conversations about the programmatic landscape (SSP/DSP Marketplaces) and direct 1:1 advertiser/agency strategies.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for top-tier clients and agencies, building long-term partnerships focused on measurable business outcomes, shape account strategy and lead deal-making for major tentpole events, cultural moments, and Paramount IP.
  • Collaborate with insights, marketing, and programming teams to craft compelling sales narrativesand go-to-market strategies.
  • Drive innovation in ad formats, branded content, and emerging revenue streams (e.g., shoppable, TV, data-driven linear)
  • Forecast and manage revenue pipelines, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business priorities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and inform strategic direction.
  • Oversee the development and growth of the sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and collaboration.
  • Represent Paramount Advertising externally at industry events, Upfronts, and leadership forums
  • Ensure compliance with advertising standards, legal requirements, and internal policies
  • Partner with SVP and executive leadership to execute go-to-market strategies and support enterprise-wide initiatives.

 

Basic Qualifications: 


•    12+ years of experience in media sales or marketing, with a strong track record of leading teams and exceeding revenue goals.
•    Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing sales teams, with a focus on coaching and talent development

 

Additional Qualifications:

 

  • Executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning
  • Deep understanding of the advertising landscape across linear and streaming platforms including programmatic streaming sales experience, with direct experience in programmatic roles at publishers, ad tech firms, or platform companies.
  • Proven success working with national brand advertisers and top media agencies
  • Expertise in integrated, cross-platform selling and consultative sales approaches
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to lead through influence and inspiration
  • Comfort with data and analytics, including using performance metrics to inform strategy
  • Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Passion for culture, entertainment, and the evolving media landscape

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $270,000.00 - 300,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.  This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
