Account Director, Programmatic Sales

Paramount UK is seeking an experienced Account Director to support our Group Account Director in driving revenue growth across our portfolio of digital and streaming platforms, including 5, PlutoTV, Paramount+, and our YouTube channels through programmatic partnerships with advertising agencies and using buy and sell-side ad tech partnerships.
The ideal Account Director will be a dynamic professional with extensive experience in digital and streaming/CTV advertising sales, particularly in programmatic technologies. Possessing a reliable track record of driving growth through media agencies and technology intermediaries, the AD will demonstrate their expert knowledge of programmatic advertising ecosystems (Ad Exchanges, Deal IDs, RTB, DSPs, DMPs, SSPs). This self-starter will excel at developing winning strategies, coordinating with partners throughout the client lifecycle, and converting complex capabilities into compelling benefits for prospective customers. With strong qualitative and quantitative skills, industry relationships, and a passion for new technologies, they are poised to effectively support the Group AD in growing Paramount's UK market presence. They will play a crucial role in fostering strong client relationships, mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to Paramount's position as a leader in the evolving digital video landscape.
What will you be doing?
- Drive Revenue Growth: Position Paramount Streaming programmatic solutions as essential to advertisers' media strategies to increase revenue.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies, DSPs, SSPs and platform partners to influence investment decisions.
- Develop Compelling Narratives: Create persuasive stories that show how audience-driven programmatic media improves performance and business outcomes.
- Align Sales Efforts: Ensure programmatic sales strategies complement direct and managed service sales to achieve broader revenue goals.
Client Engagement & Influence
- Consultative Sales: Lead consultative engagements with advertisers to align programmatic investments with their marketing objectives and growth goals.
- Collaborate with Partners: Work with DSPs, SSPs, resellers, aggregators, and data providers to create seamless audience activation pathways that maximise revenue.
- Craft Compelling Proposals: Partner with Agency and Client Direct sales teams to develop programmatic-first proposals that drive adoption and investment.
- Industry Representation: Represent the company at industry events and client forums to position it as a leader in programmatic innovation.
Team Coordination and Leadership
- Work closely with the Group AD to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Supervise and mentor Account Managers.
- Collaborate with the Account Management and Ad Ops teams to effectively handle client demands and ensure successful campaign delivery.
Platform Knowledge and Innovation:
- Maintain excellent knowledge of Paramount's digital and streaming ecosystem, including My5, PlutoTV, Paramount+, and YouTube channels.
- Stay ahead of developments in digital video advertising and communicate updates to the team and clients.
- Assist in developing innovative advertising solutions that demonstrate the unique features of each platform.
- Provide feedback to product, marketing, and management teams on market demand and new feature development.
What are we looking for?
- Advertising Sales: Extensive experience in programmatic advertising sales, with a focus on digital video and streaming platforms in the UK market.
- Strong background in advertising and/or technology sales, with a focus on media agencies and tech intermediaries
- In-depth knowledge of Programmatic Advertising Technologies (e.g., Ad Exchanges, Deal IDs, RTB, DSPs, DMPs, SSPs)
- Strong network within programmatic teams at media agencies
- Solid background in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, with a curiosity about developing winning strategies and cases
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK CTV advertising landscape and market trends.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with industry tools such as FreeWheel, ClearCast and programmatic advertising platforms.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for clients.
