Reporting to the Content Operations Manager, the Content Operations Executive is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content to multiple platforms and services. The individual will be part of the team running the day-to-day Channel 5 VOD content operation, co-ordinating multiple workstreams to ensure programming appears on the service when required. Working alongside the VOD content, Tech Operations and Broadcast Ops teams, the individual will ensure that all potential or actual delivery issues are picked up, assessed and resolved in a timely and appropriate manner. Alongside colleagues from across the business and externally, the individual will play a key role in coordinating content from multiple suppliers and ensuring seamless progression from receipt to delivery. They will be adept at assessing, triaging and working with others to identify and troubleshoot issues with process and potential workflow improvements.
The role will lead the operational relationship with editorial, playout and distribution partners, ensuring a joined-up approach to content delivery. The team is primarily responsible for delivery of Channel 5 and partner programming to the streaming service, and works to drive efficient workflows and processes within the team. This role will be expected to support that, and be across project developments in order to communicate requirements clearly and concisely to teams and management as required.
What will you be doing?

Be part of the team running the VOD delivery operation, ensuring the timely availability of content across all required platforms

Spearhead the 3P content delivery process, coordinating with colleagues across the business to deliver exclusive and Partner Channel programming

Key operational contact for external service providers and suppliers

Work closely with Content team identify issues with metadata and images
-
Identify content processing problems, and support the triage and remedy of issues on live platforms

1st line support regarding operational issues for syndication partners

Manage the operational relationship with Channel 5’s media processing partners

Coordinate delivery reporting and KPI tracking

Support the workflow improvement process

Tracking and troubleshooting content delivery

QC of delivered content
-
Version control including revocation re-scheduling and redeliveries

Tracking and implementing linear TX changes for VOD
-
Access services reviews, scheduling and redelivering where required
-
Content management of transcode volumes for Catch up, Box Sets, First-Looks and Exclusives
What are we looking for?

A highly organised person, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, manage prioritisation and follow a structured approach to problem solving

Excellent technical understanding and ability to communicate technical issues
-
A strong understanding of the video on demand market and demonstrable interest in streaming as a platform for the delivery of content and services

Ability to align operational and strategic requirements

Demonstrable experience in operational troubleshooting, and a can-do attitude to issue resolution

A great team player and an ambassador for on-demand TV distribution to the wider organisation

Extensive knowledge of video on demand system workflows or architectures

Solid experience working in a digital media or broadcast operational environment

Experience using content management workflows

Experience working with digital video assets, with a good knowledge and understanding of video transcoding technologies and techniques

Experience using workflow and collaboration software, such as Jira, Confluence, Slack or Teams

Good knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel

Understanding of a range of different metadata output formats

Be able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure

A diplomatic approach to issue management

A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail

A sense of ownership and desire to solve issues and see tasks through to completion
