Here's an overview of the role:

 

  • The Group Account Director (GAD) International Ad Sales & Brand Partnerships will be responsible for achieving the fiscal Paramount Advertising International Ad Sales revenue target, focused on, but not exclusively, 360, Pan-Regional, Ad Sales and Brand Partnership deals as well as delivering revenue across Paramount’s linear, video and streaming platforms. 

 

  • Based in Hawley Crescent, London, the candidate will directly manage an International Sales Account Director and International Account Manager (excluding digital specific Account Directors and Account Managers) and work with the SVP Creative Services and VP of Commercial Operations to maximise ad revenues through prospect-finding, pitch-creation and deal delivery. 

 

  • Managing non digital trading negotiations alongside the SVP and VP Digital Ad Sales with media agencies and clients and executing trading agreements across of international ad sales.

 

  • Regular senior level contact with clients and media agencies, working to conceive and own strategic direction of international ad sales.  The role is a front line, client and agency facing sales position.

 

  • Responsible for management and revenue generation on a specific agency patch with full oversight across all business functions and revenue generating opportunities.  The GAD will liaise with Paramount’s UK partner, Sky Media I (in co-ordination with SVP) on partnership opportunities across their agency patch of business.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:


1. Revenue Maximisation 

  • Negotiation of annual agency trading agreements and client trading agreements.

  • Determining with the SVP and VP Digital Ad Sales, sales strategy to include all aspects of pricing, incentives, trading, key client targets, key sponsorship opportunities, research initiatives across both TV and Digital.

  • Co-ordinating an SVP and VP Digital Ad Sales in the maintenance and cultivation of key senior agency and client relationships

  • Management of weekly revenue forecasting and provision of management information to appraise senior management of progress.

  • Identify and take new sales opportunities to market and explore new revenue streams across linear, social and streaming. 

  • Working closely with SVP sales to set annual revenue targets and sales bonus incentives for pan regional revenues.

2. Management 

  • Ongoing management and motivation of pan-regional, non-digital sales teams.

  • Individual business allocation, and agency patch.

  • Deal closure and deal management supervision.

  • Individual coaching and goal setting.

  • Where necessary, leading weekly sales meeting, providing clear direction to individuals and the sales team as a whole, empowering the Account Directors and Sales Managers to deliver the brand and targets for pan regional business 

  • Ensuring Account Directors are actively managing the performance and development of their team.

3.  Liaison

  • Liaising with creative services team and the VP Digital Ad Sales to ensure timely input into pitches and clear delineation of delivery.

  • Representing the company externally at a senior, diplomatic level and building strategic alliances.

  • Working with the VP of Operations on planning and management of campaigns as well as giving insight into the changing media metrics and pricing of the TV industry based on personal understanding and client and agency contact.


What are we looking for in an International Group  Account Director? 

 

  • Significant experience of working in TV advertising to a high-level, demonstrating strong negotiation and trading skills and a clear understanding of the business.

  • Proven ability and experience of leading, running and motivating a team, setting policy, and achieving targets.

  • Strong relationships with senior media agency personnel including trading and partnership directors and a strong understanding of their business models and the different opportunities that exist to drive ad revenues.    

  • Strong relationships with agencies that can provide opportunities to drive ad revenues such as barter and creative agencies.

  • Client and Agency side experience desirable.

  • Experience of dealing directly with advertisers.

  • Understanding of barter deals and commercials.

  • Proven leadership capability, able to lead strategy implementation, a strong people motivator and developer.

  • Financial understanding - ability to make calculated P&L and budgetary decisions.

  • Exceptional communication skills – promotes communication across the business, communicates clearly, engages others, articulates reasons for decisions, is open to others’ opinions.

  • A diplomatic and highly professional approach.

  • Visible’ personal drive and confidence.

  • Frequent travel may be required which can often be at short notice.
