Is this the role for you?

The Manager, Digital Planning & Operations plays a central role in shaping how digital advertising campaigns are planned, delivered, measured and optimised, across streaming, programmatic and digital video platforms.

Sitting at the intersection of Sales, Ad Operations, Finance, Business Intelligence and Product, this role brings teams together to ensure digital campaigns are planned with precision, delivered efficiently, and supported by accurate commercial reporting. You’ll combine hands‑on operational leadership with process improvement, stakeholder partnership and people leadership, helping the business scale its digital offering effectively.

What will you be doing?

Digital Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead end‑to‑end digital campaign planning across direct and programmatic channels, ensuring activity aligns with sales policy, commercial guidelines and operational capability.

  • Collaborate with Sales teams to provide feasibility assessments, delivery forecasts and best‑practice guidance, covering streaming, digital video, social and programmatic media.

  • Coordinate multi‑market digital plans where required, driving consistency, accuracy and alignment across regions.

  • Ensure deal information is captured and maintained accurately across planning, booking and CRM systems.

Campaign Delivery & Performance Management

  • Oversee the operational delivery of digital campaigns from launch through completion, ensuring activity meets contractual commitments and delivery expectations.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for delivery risk, under‑delivery, pacing challenges or platform constraints, partnering closely with Ad Operations to resolve issues.

  • Track and interpret campaign performance, identifying optimisation opportunities and communicating risks, insights and solutions clearly to Sales and stakeholders.

Revenue, Reporting & Commercial Governance

  • Ensure digital delivery reporting is accurate, timely and reliable, covering impressions, pacing, yield and post‑campaign analysis.

  • Own digital and programmatic forecasting, reconciliation and revenue tracking, working in partnership with Finance to support accurate revenue recognition and accruals.

  • Produce regular and ad‑hoc reporting for stakeholders and senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Maintain alignment with internal governance, commercial approval processes and financial controls.

Programmatic & Platform Operations

  • Lead the operational performance of programmatic and third‑party partnerships, including forecasting, reporting and reconciliation.

  • Work cross‑functionally with Ad Operations, BI and external partners to analyse performance and identify opportunities to maximise revenue and yield.

  • Stay close to developments in digital and programmatic advertising, bringing relevant insights into planning and operational strategy.

Process, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, evaluate and evolve digital planning and sales operations workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy and scalability.

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for digital planning, ad serving and reporting systems, ensuring high data quality and effective adoption.

  • Support the implementation and continuous optimisation of tools, automation and reporting solutions across Digital Operations.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with Sales, Finance, Ad Operations, BI, Product and Technology teams.

  • Communicate performance, risks and opportunities with clarity and confidence, supporting informed decision‑making at senior level.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in digital planning, digital sales operations, programmatic or ad operations within media, broadcasting or streaming environments.

  • Strong understanding of digital advertising delivery models, including forecasting, pacing and impression‑based campaigns.

  • Proven experience partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Finance, BI and Ad Operations teams.

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data and turn insight into action.

  • Well‑developed organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Hands‑on experience with programmatic platforms, ad servers and CRM systems (e.g. FreeWheel, Google Ad Manager, Salesforce, Operative).

  • Exposure to paid social advertising platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager).

  • Experience supporting revenue recognition, reconciliation or accrual processes.

  • People management experience or senior‑level mentoring capability.

  • Experience working across multiple markets or international regions.

Personal Attributes

  • Detail‑focused, with sound commercial judgement.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity while balancing competing priorities.

  • Proactive problem‑solver with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Clear, confident communicator, able to connect operational detail to commercial outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

  • Digital campaigns are planned accurately, delivered efficiently and reported with clarity.

  • Sales and Finance teams trust the integrity of revenue and delivery data.

  • Stakeholders view Digital Planning & Operations as a strategic partner, rather than a transactional support function.

  • Processes and systems continue to evolve, enabling scalable, sustainable digit
