This role supports the EMEA Theatrical Distribution team in running film releases to improve box office performance across the region. Key responsibilities include tailoring distribution strategies for each market, collaborating with local partners, and leading all aspects of release execution including working with local teams on marketing strategies to drive efficient results.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • Licensee territory supervision: exhibitor relations and deal making (including understanding contractual agreements), marketing spend review, strategic release date planning and box office reporting.
  • Regularly assesses and reviews Territory, GBO performance, BO and revenue estimates, retention rates for films in release, gathering insights and feedback to improve future strategies and address local challenges.
  • Prepares in depth analysis to evaluate distribution opportunities and partnerships that align with strategic goals of the EMEA region.
  • Preparation sales and distribution reports related to release dates, box office performance, and audience reactions.
  • Develops and build positive relationships with international exhibitors, distributors, and partners to ensure successful film launches.
  • Coordinate with LA Distribution and Marketing finance teams to manage budgets, optimise spending, and forecast Box office revenue for the region.
  • Works effectively with various studio departments (LA Film Operations and LA Marketing) to support queries and requests from EMEA markets to launch films.
  • Stays updated on international film industry trends, market performance, emerging markets, and regulatory requirements to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collates EMEA market analysis, statistics and trends in box office, admissions, ticket prices trends, and formats for presentations to guide strategy and decision-making.
  • Conduct research projects, ad hoc box office analyses, and other review tasks, collecting data insights and preparing presentations and reports for management as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required and some work during opening weekend of Paramount releases.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Several years of experience in the business environment
  • Experience or a strong curiosity about International Theatrical Distribution
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating.
  • Qualification in Business Management, Marketing or equivalent
  • Track record in business development and in developing and implementing non-traditional business models.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Highly developed numeracy
  • Critical and Creative Thinking: Ability to quickly analyse and interpret quantitative data for management and ability to provide qualitative feedback on films.
  • Proactive, hands-on problem solver, flexible, adaptable and resourceful
  • Able to work autonomously and is self-motivated
  • Confident presentation skills
  • A positive attitude and collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Extremely thorough and detail oriented
  • Keen curiosity about the film industry and movie performance
  • Communication – virtual and in person
