#WeAreParamount on a mission to unleash the power of content… you in?
We’ve got the brands, we’ve got the stars, we’ve got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet – now all we’re missing is… YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Together, we co-create moments that matter – both for our audiences and our employees – and aim to leave a positive mark on culture.

Is this the role for you?

Paramount is looking for a Manager, Public Policy & Government Affairs (UK) to support our engagement with UK policymakers, regulators and industry partners at a time of significant change across media, advertising and technology.

This role sits at the intersection of policy, regulation and commercial decision‑making. You will track and shape UK policy developments that affect broadcasting, streaming, advertising, content production and the use of artificial intelligence. You’ll work closely with colleagues across legal, content, advertising and technology to turn business priorities into clear, credible policy positions.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys analysing complex issues, building relationships and contributing thoughtfully to public debate.

What will you be doing?

Public policy and regulation

You’ll support Paramount’s UK public policy agenda across priority areas including:

  • Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) regulation and Ofcom frameworks, including prominence and licence obligations
  • Ofcom regulation of video‑on‑demand (VOD) services
  • Kids TV policy
  • Streaming regulation and wider UK media and digital policy
  • Advertising regulation
  • UK AI policy and regulation affecting the creative, media and advertising sectors

Day to day, this means

  • Monitoring political, legislative and regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the business
  • Analysing policy proposals and regulatory initiatives
  • Working with internal teams to develop evidence‑based policy positions
  • Coordinating input into government consultations, regulatory reviews and Ofcom processes
  • Drafting briefings, consultation responses and internal updates

Industry and trade body engagement

You’ll support Paramount’s engagement with key industry bodies such as the Advertising Association, Advertising Standards Authority, CoBA and the Motion Picture Association. This includes attending meetings, contributing to working groups, sharing perspectives and helping coordinate joint industry responses.

Public affairs support

You’ll help deliver UK‑focused public affairs activity by:

  • Organising and participating in meetings, events and roundtables
  • Preparing briefing materials for senior stakeholders
  • Engaging with government departments, regulators (including Ofcom), parliamentarians and advisers
  • Working with external consultants to ensure clear and consistent messaging

What are we looking for?

We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll likely bring:

  • Several years experience in public policy, government affairs or public affairs
  • Experience engaging with UK government, Parliament and/or regulators, including consultation and review processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policy issues clearly
  • The confidence to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Good judgement, discretion and political awareness
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience

Experience in UK media, broadcasting, advertising or digital policy is helpful but not essential. We value curiosity and the ability to learn as much as prior sector knowledge
