Is This Role For You?

As a social-first Midweight Designer, you’ll play a key role in bringing the 5 brand to life across our social and digital platforms.

Your core focus will be crafting bold, eye-catching and well-crafted design for social, digital and streaming, and you’ll occasionally supply to promo graphics, campaign visuals and cross-platform assets for our TV channels (5, 5Action, 5Star, 5Select, 5USA).

You'll need to have a deep understanding of social platforms, strong motion design skills, an ability to tell stories visually and a keen sense of composition. You’ll work closely with creatives, editors, producers and the wider marketing and social teams ensuring everything we put out is visually brilliant, on brand and built to cut through.

You will report into the Head of Art & Design, collaborating across departments to make our content shine wherever it lives.

What will you be doing?

  • Design standout static and motion assets for social platforms (Meta, TikTok, X, YouTube), adapting the creative to suit each format and audience
  • Turn campaign ideas into platform-specific content — from fast-turn reactive posts to flagship campaigns
  • Build and adapt graphics and campaign branding for social, with occasional use across on-air and promo packaging
  • Champion 5’s visual identity, keeping it strong while flexing it for different platforms and content types
  • Collaborate with designers and creatives on motion briefs, creative concepts and design treatments
  • Working with marketing, social, press and media planning to deliver cohesive, visually sharp and emotionally engaging campaigns

What are we looking for?

  • Proficient in crafting for social — understanding what works on each platform and how to make creative stand out
  • Proficient in motion and graphic design, displaying a sharp focus on layout, typography, and image treatment
  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite and its ethical AI tools — Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Firefly
  • Bring brand guidelines to life while adapting them to different formats, programme types and audiences
  • Strong visual communication skills and an understanding of visual and social trends
  • Understanding of digital standard processes (understanding broadcast design is ideal but not essential)
  • Confidence working to tight deadlines, with a proactive, agile, solution-focused approach
  • A strong portfolio of creative work showing all the above
  • You must include a working link to your online showreel / portfolio in your application (together with any passwords if needed for access)
