We’re looking for a passionate and creative Publicist to join the Communications team at Paramount UK, supporting 5 at an exciting moment of transformation and growth. As the UK’s third largest commercial broadcaster and fastest-growing public service broadcaster streamer, 5 is expanding into new content areas including premium drama and sport, reshaping its position in the UK media landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in television, streaming, or entertainment publicity who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to help shape the conversation around a diverse slate of content. Working closely with the Senior Director of Communications and a collaborative wider team, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact publicity campaigns across genres including factual, scripted, acquisitions, news, and sport.
What will you be doing?
- Contribute to and help deliver integrated communications strategies that support the priorities of 5 and Paramount UK
- Write compelling materials including press releases, media briefs, and award submissions
- Develop and execute creative, audience-first publicity campaigns across earned, social, and digital channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UK media contacts across press, broadcast, podcasts, and influencers
- Identify and pitch stories, features, and media angles to maximise coverage for 5’s content
- Manage day-to-day press office activity, including handling media enquiries and escalating when needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, social, and paid media teams to amplify campaigns
- Support talent publicity, coordinating interviews and making the most of promotional opportunities
- Monitor the media landscape to identify emerging opportunities and trends
- Produce campaign reports and share insights with key stakeholders
- Explore the use of AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance campaign delivery and efficiency
What are we looking for?
Skills & Experience
- Experience in publicity, PR, or communications within TV, streaming, or a related industry (2–4 years)
- Strong understanding of the UK media landscape (traditional and digital) with established press contacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting or delivering content-led campaigns and media outreach
- Exposure to talent management or media handling is a plus
- Awareness of handling sensitive or complex programme-related issues is beneficial
