Who are you? 
The Programming team at Channel 5 lies at the heart of this ambition. Tasked with sourcing, developing, and shaping the channel’s editorial output, our Commissioning Editors work closely with both in-house teams and independent production companies to bring fresh, compelling ideas to screen. 

 

To support the continued growth and dynamism of the department, we are hiring a Team Assistant who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our programming operations. The role offers a fantastic opportunity for highly organised, proactive individual who is passionate about television and looking to build a career in broadcasting. Working closely with the Commissioning Editors, the Team Assistant will help coordinate diaries, manage admin processes, and provide essential day-to-day support within a fast-paced and creative environment. 

 

What will you be doing?  
• Extensive diary management for 3-4 Commissioning Editors. Support with larger team meetings, compiling and distributing briefings and updates as required. 
• Liaise with Production companies to arrange viewings, allowing enough time for each Commissioning Editor to watch fully, review and send back notes.  
• Support with TV Markets, planning and coordination. In addition to other external and internal events. 
• Oversee and support travel bookings for team, ensuring T&E policy is always adhered to.  
•  Responsible for all administration duties for the team; holiday and sick leave etc.   
•  Liaise with all departments Technology Services and Office Services on behalf of the department to fulfil any team requirements.
•  Support with T&E where required.  
•  Reconciling expenses (inc travel) as well as managing and raising POs via the SAP system
•  POC for the team when collaborating with other departments  
•  Work with other Team Assistants & Executive Assistants around the business ensuring alignment on our ways of working, and communication and updates are cascaded as required.  
•  Holiday cover for the other Programming Team Assistants and occasional cover for the Executive Assistant of Programming.
 

 

What are we looking for?  

•    A strong team player with the ability to multitask and provide support across various levels of the organisation 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in liaising with colleagues and external partners 
•    A proactive interest in developing a career within administration, with a desire to network, learn, and grow within the role 

•    Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally 
•    Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new internal systems 
•    Familiarity with financial systems such as Market SAP and Concur is desirable
