Overview and Responsibilities:

The Director of Corporate Strategy drives strategic initiatives that shape Paramount's future direction and competitive positioning. This role develops insights and strategic recommendations that inform executive decision-making across the enterprise, working as part of the Corporate Strategy team under the EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development. The Director collaborates closely with senior management across business units including Direct to Consumer, TV Media, and Studios, as well as functional teams in Finance, Operations, and Technology. This position operates with supervision from the SVP, Corporate Strategy, exercising significant individual judgment in developing strategic frameworks and leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•    Lead end-to-end strategic planning processes including market analysis, competitive assessments, and business case development
•    Develop data-driven strategic recommendations by conducting quantitative modeling, scenario planning, and qualitative reasoning to evaluate growth opportunities, partnership structures, and new business models across Paramount's portfolio
•    Partner directly with business unit leaders to translate enterprise strategy into actionable operating plans, facilitating strategic reviews and serving as thought partner on critical business decisions affecting content investment, distribution strategy, and technology priorities
•    Create and deliver executive presentations and Board materials that synthesize complex strategic issues into clear narratives with actionable recommendations
•    Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives by establishing project governance, managing workstreams, and ensuring alignment between strategy and business unit execution priorities
•    Build strategic frameworks and analytical tools that enable consistent decision-making across the organization, establishing methodologies for market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and investment evaluation
•    Execute special projects and ad-hoc analyses as directed by senior leadership, responding to time-sensitive strategic questions and emerging market developments
 

Basic Qualifications:

•    10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or private equity with demonstrated expertise in media, entertainment, or technology sectors
•    MBA or advanced degree from top-tier institution with well-developed quantitative and analytical coursework
•    Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools including Tableau or Power BI
•    Proven ability to manage complex, ambiguous projects individually while influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to C-level executives and Board members
•    Willingness to travel up to 25% for business unit visits, industry events, and strategic planning sessions
 

Additional Qualifications:

•    Direct experience in streaming media, content production, or digital platform businesses with understanding of subscriber economics and content licensing models
•    Familiarity with emerging technologies including AI/ML applications in media, advertising technology, and content personalization systems
•    Previous experience at major media companies or entertainment studios with established relationships across the industry ecosystem
•    Knowledge of international media markets and global content strategies, particularly in high-growth regions

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $175,000.00 - 200,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
