Overview:
The Director of Global Communications is a key member of Paramount Pictures’ Global Communications team, responsible for shaping and implementing strategies that support the studio’s business objectives and elevate its brand across the industry. This role will focus on transactional announcements, executive communications, corporate initiatives, and cross-studio messaging across divisions, including marketing, production, development, distribution, home entertainment, and franchise management.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Global Communications & Media Relations, the Director will collaborate closely with senior Paramount Pictures executives, cross-functional teams, and external partners. The role will also work with the press to support corporate announcements and executive visibility efforts.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain positive relationships with trade and entertainment press, fielding inquiries and leading approval processes with executives, filmmakers, representatives, and partners
- Work closely with the global communications and senior leadership teams to ensure the company’s goals and accomplishments are reflected in announcements and key messaging
- Handle day-to-day inquiries from trade reporters and entertainment press regarding studio projects, box office reporting, and transactional announcements
- Proactively identify and execute opportunities to highlight key executives and studio initiatives in the press
- Coordinate with talent and filmmaker representatives on announcements, including drafting media materials such as fact sheets, talking points, and memos
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and identify new opportunities to turn into marketable stories
- Identify and secure speaking opportunities for executives that support the company’s core messaging
- Oversee the department’s editorial calendar and special issues lists, and manage pitching, including executive profiles and story placement
- Partner with the Corporate Social Responsibility team to handle media opportunities for studio-wide initiatives (volunteer activities, education initiatives, fundraising events)
- Collaborate with the publicity and marketing teams on consumer media communications
- Play a key role in corporate events such as town halls, film premieres, and industry gatherings (e.g., CinemaCon)
- Manage executives at red carpet events, premieres, and awards shows
- Track media coverage and monitor industry trends
- Travel and staff events as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of related experience
- Proven ability to establish and cultivate media relationships
- Excellent judgment in positioning news as relevant to the media
- Extensive knowledge of the media landscape
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $130,000.00 - 155,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
