Overview:

Paramount Global Content Distribution is expanding its Research team. We are looking for an expert, strategic qualitative and quantitative research & data insights Director to join an experienced, passionate group that supports the distribution and monetization of Paramount content globally on all platforms: Television (Free TV, Pay TV), Streaming (SVOD, AVOD, FAST), Transactional (PVOD, TVOD). This is a hands-on leadership role blending analytical skills, organizational excellence, creative problem-solving, team management and exemplary communication.
 
You will lead research initiatives that empower sales teams across the US market, delivering insights that drive business decisions. A passion for video content and curiosity about audience behavior are key. You will report to the VP of Research (located in Los Angeles) and will collaborate with Global Content Distribution colleagues, and other internal research teams and vendors.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Be closely involved in the research strategy for domestic sales support, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for GCD teams in the US, managing workflow and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop advanced analytics frameworks to evaluate content performance and competitive positioning across genres (Feature Films, Scripted Series, Unscripted Series, Children’s programming).
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, inform pricing and windowing strategies, and optimize content licensing decisions.
  • Leverage relationship with qualitative and quantitative research vendors, participate in elaborating surveys and consumer insights projects with Transactional and Content Licensing support in mind.
  • Drive innovation in reporting, leveraging automation, AI, and visualization tools to create dynamic dashboards and storytelling formats.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration, working with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial Operations teams to integrate research into strategic planning.
  • Monitor global trends in audience behavior, platform evolution, and emerging technologies to anticipate market shifts.
  • Create data-driven sales decks and presentations that effectively showcase the performance and strategic value of key titles and franchises.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in media and entertainment research, specifically supporting Content Distribution, Content Licensing, or Advertising Sales businesses. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in statistics, marketing, social sciences, or a related field), or equivalent experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Nielsen data, methodologies, and reporting tools, with the ability to translate audience insights into actionable business recommendations.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working across international markets and with global media landscapes is strongly preferred.   
  • You have a passion for video content (TV, Streaming, Film) and for entertainment in general, with a deep interest in consumer behavior. You watch countless hours of content and enjoy talking about it.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into concise, persuasive recommendations for executive audiences.
  • You are an expert in Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot, Tableau and have experience with audience measurement platforms (ITVR, Techedge, etc.).
  • You are curious, detail-oriented, and have an exemplary ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • You have demonstrated success in leading teams and managing projects in a dynamic, sales-driven environment.
  • You have experience leveraging AI, automations, and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and insights delivery.
  • Familiarity with data science is a plus, but not a requirement.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

 

Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 155,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
