Overview & Responsibilities:

 

The Sr Manager, Security is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of security and emergency preparedness functions for the Paramount Pictures Studio Lot and affiliated sites. This role ensures the protection of personnel, guests, assets, productions, and infrastructure through effective policy implementation, risk mitigation, and personnel management. The manager leads the execution of both studio and corporate-wide security programs, while fostering a culture of safety, responsiveness, and compliance.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Direct 24/7 security operations, including patrols, access control, surveillance, and incident response. Supervise a team of 100+ personnel, including three shift supervisors (Lieutenants), sergeants, full-time and part-time security staff.
  • Oversee the ID/Access Card center, Lock Shop, and Security Command Center operations, including surveillance review and alarm monitoring for studio and off-site locations.
  • Develop and implement security policies, emergency preparedness plans, and operational SOPs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Conduct risk assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the studio lot and corporate properties.
  • Partner with local law enforcement (LAPD, LAFD) and external agencies to ensure seamless communication and incident coordination.
  • Serve as Event Commander for major studio events and productions; conduct threat assessments and manage ingress/egress logistics, VIP/Talent protection, and emergency protocols.
  • Coordinate security plans with Facilities, Studio Operations, Production Teams, and Special Events for high-profile or large-scale events.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with union agreements, studio policies, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee department budgets, payroll approvals, expense tracking, and accounts payable processes.
  • Ensure staffing aligns with business volume, special event needs, and emergency response demands.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies for high-performing security professionals.
  • Establish in-service training programs to maintain professional standards and promote career development.
  • Handle disciplinary processes, grievance resolution, and performance evaluations in partnership with HR and labor relations.
  • Ensure all security technologies (surveillance, alarms, access control) are operational and support investigative and safety needs.
  • Promote integration of intelligence-led security by using data and communication tools for proactive threat management.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 8 or more years of progressive experience in security management, preferably within the studio, entertainment, law enforcement, or military sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale teams and overseeing complex operations in dynamic environments
  • Strong administrative, fiscal oversight, and organizational planning abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; capable of building cross-functional relationships.
  • Must be available for on-call emergencies 24/7 and able to travel for corporate or production support, and possible travel as needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 132,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
