The Supervisor, Security (Lieutenant) plays a critical leadership role within the Paramount Security Department, managing and coordinating shift operations while providing high-level support to the Sr Manager of Security and VP of Security. This position carries broader responsibilities and greater authority than union Sergeants, including oversight of personnel, logistics, operational systems, and emergency management support in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Management & Supervision
• Forecast work assignments and determine operational priorities.
• Plan and assign shift schedules, union Officers, and equipment based on studio needs.
• Authorize and justify overtime (within limits) and communicate approvals to senior leadership.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and quantity of work performed by union Officers.
• Conduct and support confidential investigations.
Operational Oversight
• Maintain direct oversight of day-to-day field operations and GSOC (Global Security Operations Center).
• Monitor GSOC systems and ensure operational readiness.
• Respond promptly to incident notifications, emergencies, and alarm activations.
• Be accessible via phone or email to Sergeants during off-hours for unforeseen issues.
Studio Collaboration
• Work closely with Special Events, Productions, and Facilities teams to address security needs and resolve logistical challenges.
• Provide support for off-site events, premieres, and high-profile activities.
Policy Enforcement & Compliance
• Enforce Paramount Studio’s Policies and Procedures consistently across all shifts.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
Emergency Management Support
• Collaborate with the EHS team to support emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
• Assist in coordinating drills, training, and incident response protocols.
• Serve as a liaison during emergency situations to ensure effective communication and resolution.
Equipment & Reporting
• Maintain security equipment and report discrepancies or maintenance needs to the Senior Manager and VP of Security.
• Assist with administrative duties including payroll and billing, which are restricted from union personnel.
• Other duties as required for the success of the department.
Qualifications
• 6 or more years experience in security operations, supervision, or law enforcement.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively under pressure.
• Familiarity with GSOC systems and emergency response protocols.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and support off-site events.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
