Overview:
This role sits at the center of Paramount Pictures Animation films, partnering closely with production management to help guide each project from early development through final delivery on schedule, on budget, and at the highest creative standard. It's equal parts strategist, problem solver, and operational leader, making sure that creative goals are supported by smart planning, clear reporting, and solid cross-functional collaboration.
 
Working across multiple films, this position reviews and evaluates production schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation to proactively identify risks and drive solutions. The role partners with production, finance, post, business affairs, labor relations, legal, IT, HR, and facilities to align workflows and establish consistent production metrics across the studio. From staffing artistic talent and assessing subcontractors to building scalable tools and templates that improve efficiency, this person plays a critical role in shaping how animated features are produced, helping teams navigate complexity while maximizing the value seen on screen.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Review, manage, and assess various department schedules and reports on films – identify risk areas and help address and/or escalate issues
  • Help production management on films to problem-solve on day-to-day challenges, as needed
  • Assist in the staffing of production management and artistic talent across all films in production and/or development
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive tool that can be used to evaluate and allocate artistic and other resources across projects proficiently
  • Work successfully with Paramount Pictures' operations team, including Production, Post Production, Finance, Business Affairs, Labor Relations, Legal, IT, HR, and Facility Operations.
  • Stay on top of key industry trends and identify opportunities
  • Help establish uniform production metrics and reporting across all films
  • Provide key support for production and development teams with respect to managing subcontractors
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of animation subcontractors for various films in production
  • Work closely with production and finance to establish schedule and budget templates for feature films
  • Aid in the complexity assessments and management on films – provide recommendations for getting the most value on screen
  • In conjunction with the Senior Vice President, help create, test, and establish new production and/or development initiatives
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive production management experience in a feature animation studio
  • Production management experience in various departments, including pre-production (story, art, editorial) and production (assets, layout, animation, lighting)
 
Additional Qualifications:
  • Wide industry knowledge of people, processes, and various pipelines
  • Awareness of important animation software, hardware, databases, and asset management systems
  • Exemplary interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Experience in a large, dynamic studio 
  • Experience working with subcontractors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $190,000.00 - 235,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
