Overview: 
We’re hiring a Vice President of Visual Effects to join us at Paramount Television Studios!

 

This executive will lead and oversee all aspects of VFX across the studio’s television slate, making sure that every project meets the highest creative standards while staying on budget and on schedule. The VP will drive strategy, elevate workflows, strengthen vendor relationships, and champion innovation in technology and production practices to keep Paramount at the forefront of exceptional visual storytelling.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage VFX production for TV projects across all phases—budgeting, development, prep, shoot, and post—often without freelance support; serve as the primary liaison between filmmakers and internal departments
  • Partner with the SVP to guide filmmakers in establishing VFX pipelines and production plans, and collaborate on strategic planning, emerging technology opportunities, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency
  • Prepare cost and schedule projections for Senior Management on active projects, and provide early VFX budget estimates and timeline requirements for projects in development
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team on concept art and design needs for early-stage projects, and work with Marketing on all phases of TV promotion and branding
  • Build, manage, and evaluate domestic and international VFX vendor relationships, including strategic partnerships and new supplier assessments
  • Support talent acquisition and management strategies for freelance VFX personnel, and maintain department databases tracking costs, historical data, and talent availability
  • Manage special projects as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of production-side, VFX vendor, or film industry experience (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the VFX process, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor relationships
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database tools (ShotGrid, FileMaker Pro)
  • Working knowledge of Virtual Production and its applications
  • Willingness to travel, work overtime, and work weekends on short notice

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $225,000.00 - 250,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
