We now have an opportunity for an experienced Camera Operator in the 10 News team in Brisbane.
Enough about us! What you’ll do as a Camera Operator:
This is a fulltime role within our dynamic News division encompassing news gathering, production, lighting, location audio, and nightly live crosses ensuring our 10 News audience are getting the latest information around Qld.
We are looking for a multiskilled, technology leaning, news-gathering camera operator who excels in quick video composition and gathering while working under the extreme demands of a daily news service across a variable landscape.
To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
• Knowledge and use of broadcast cameras and lighting, as well as a basic understanding of editing principles.
• Familiar with live cross procedures and the operation of liveU and Dejero Streaming units.
• Experience in the 24/7 demands of the news industry, particularly in working on multiple daily live news bulletins.
• Able to work within a team environment and independently to ensure the desired outcome is achieved during each assignment.
• Engages actively and productively with peers, supervisors, colleagues, and the public.
• Strong communication skills, visual storytelling and able to direct the shoots when necessary to reach the highest desired outcome.
• Able to think outside the box, there are no boring stories only boring outcomes If you can’t create visual master pieces.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills to navigate challenges effectively.
• Ability to travel at short notice including domestic and international.
• Current full Qld driver’s license.
• Motivated self-starter with a flexible approach to work patterns and duties
• Must be able to work both weekdays and weekends as part of a roster cycle
• 3-5 years’ experience shooting news and production
