Overview

The GBS Functional Lead is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for the end-to-end design, delivery, and continuous improvement of functional services across Paramount’s Global Business Services (GBS) organization. This senior role will oversee a globally distributed workforce of 500+ colleagues, managing operations that span across various functions (e.g., HR, Finance, Technology, Ad Sales Operations) and orchestrating high-quality service delivery across multiple global hubs and locations.

This individual will partner closely with functional process leaders, global capability owners and enterprise program teams to standardize, digitize, and scale operations, and be accountable for achieving defined service level agreements (SLAs), driving operational efficiency, enhancing collaborator experience, and aligning service delivery with Paramount’s strategic business goals.

  • Near‑term (Build‑out): Support the stand up of Functional GBS service models migrating from Shared Service approaches, Lead wave‑based transitions and knowledge transfer; Staff and enable teams; Establish targets / experience baselines; Manage change and communications
  • Long‑term (Run): Own global service delivery and operations against SLAs and chargeback; Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization; Sustain benefits realization and control effectiveness across functions

 

Responsibilities:

Global Service Ownership and Delivery

  • Own the global service strategy and delivery for designated GBS functional area(s) and geographies working closely with Site/Country leadership
  • Develop and maintain a global framework of targets and service experience metrics (e.g., SLA adherence, customer satisfaction, data accuracy) aligned with business objectives
  • Codify and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) and operate function(s) with a “vendor-like” service delivery mentality, including financial governance and internal chargeback mechanisms with the broader GBS target operating model
  • Publish regular operational performance reviews and reports to key collaborators, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement

Operating Model, Standards, and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive standardization, automation, and lean improvements for designated GBS functions; Codify playbooks and a continuous integration pipeline to deliver annual productivity and experience gains, with best‑in‑class GBS penetration trends
  • Partner with Data / Tech to ensure robust data foundations, workflow automation, and self‑service experience in service delivery
  • Coordinate interdependencies with enterprise platforms and programs, including sequencing, cutover readiness, testing, etc.

Financial strategy & resource management

  • Develop, manage, and oversee the annual operating budget for designated GBS functions, including personnel costs, vendor contracts, technology investments, training programs, etc.
  • Collaborate with Head of GBS and Finance to forecast workforce needs, ensuring sustainable talent strategies aligned with business growth goals
  • Implement financial controls to ensure compliance with approved budgets and reduce financial risks; Find opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement

Transition and Value Realization

  • Lead phased transitions (waves) into GBS for designated functions, including workstream charters, knowledge transfer, staffing ramp, and benefit tracking
  • Establish baselines, finalize targets, and deliver GBS benefits case through location, scale, and digitization levers

Talent, Org, and Partner Management

  • Build and lead a large, global, and high-performing delivery organization across core locations and hubs; Drive talent management initiatives, including workforce planning and performance management
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive culture that promotes employee engagement and retention; Implement leadership development and employee growth programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Promote a collaborative and agile working environment across multiple locations
  • Govern third‑party providers (as applicable) to performance, cost, and compliance commitments; Drive continuous improvement with partnersRisk, Controls, and Compliance
  • Ensure strong controls and compliance across data, privacy, and employment processes; Target zero critical audit findings; Coordinate with Legal & Compliance for regional regulatory requirements
  • Maintain robust business continuity and incident response for service delivery

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years in a leadership position in a Global Business Services, Shared Services, or Operations environment
  • 5+ years leading multi‑regional delivery teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Operations and Organizational Leadership
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence and transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership and expertise across functional teams including design and work transfer experience supporting service delivery
  • Proven experience leading large, diverse, and global teams (100+ staff), with a track record of driving engagement and retention
  • Deep understanding of Global Business Services operating models
  • Proven strategic operator with a strong execution focus – ability to translate strategy into a scalable global service model

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience or industry certifications (e.g., CPA, CIMA, SHRM) preferred
  • Strong business and financial skill with a proven record of strategy, innovation, change management, and budget and resource management
  • Excellent communication skills on a Management / Executive level and collaborator management style
  • Analytical mentality for benchmark tracking and decision-making
  • Strong financial skill in business and chargeback mechanisms
  • Phenomenal people management and engagement skills
  • High adaptability to global standards and local compliance nuances
