Overview and Responsibilities 

We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Director of Procurement, Strategic Initiatives to lead cross-category strategies to drive value, cash, and service improvement. This leader will serve as a trusted business partner to the Procurement Leadership team, Global Operations stakeholders, and BU partners. Reporting to the EVP Head of Procurement, this role will play a pivotal role in aligning procurement with business priorities, elevating performance, and accelerating execution across the function. The Paramount Procurement team is on a journey to modernize the procurement organization through revised ways of working, operating model, technology, supplier management, and stakeholder strategy. The Sr. Director of Procurement, Strategic Initiatives, will take on several projects that will help shape the future of the function and how it operates. Additionally, this role will be involved in some of the more strategic/complex category and vendor-level projects.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across diverse categories, facilitating end-to-end procurement processes from opportunity identification through contract execution and supplier optimization.
  • Projects may include both category-specific (e.g., Marketing, Production, Technology, Professional Services, etc.) and cross-category initiatives
  • Work with senior leaders across departments, including finance, legal, and operations.
  • Align procurement priorities. 
  • Ensure transparency and build consensus.
  • Build relationships across the organization: This will help expedite procurement initiatives. It will also offer service and support to your colleagues in the business.
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives and BU leads
  • Create measurable value by reducing costs.
  • Work with suppliers and manage demand.
  • Make sure operations are proficient and lead to sustainable savings.
  • Enable data-driven decision making by analyzing complex data sets, generating actionable insights and recommendations that inform and improve business outcomes.
  • Drive supplier risk management and compliance, safeguarding the organization's supply base and ensuring adherence to governance standards.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within procurement practices, enabling agility and endurance in a dynamic business environment.
  • Look for creative applications of technology / AI to improve processes
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic priorities with operational execution.
  • Promote teamwork across different functions: This will help align procurement strategies with the business's overall goals.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities, champion strategic initiatives, and deliver long-term value.
 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of procurement or supply chain experience. Proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior leaders in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, contract negotiation, and/or vendor performance management.
  • Demonstrated data-driven, financial acumen, and modeling experience.
  • Demonstrated success operating with agility, prioritizing strategically, and delivering results in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
 
Additional Qualifications:

  • Exemplary communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Expertise in digital procurement and analytical tools (e.g., Ariba, Oracle Fusion, AI-driven analytics).
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented mindset; comfortable wearing many hats and advancing alignment across diverse stakeholders.
