The Coordinator of Program Planning and Scheduling will work within the programming team to provide operational scheduling and strategy support across multiple MTVE and Showtime Networks (CMT as primary, and multiple Showtime and MTVE cable nets)!

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with team to implement schedule and revisions to CMT/CMT Pluto program schedules, in addition to scheduling duties as needed across other MTVE & Showtime Nets.
  • Build and update metadata (program information, licenses, contracts and schedules) in PTS scheduling software for originals and acquisitions
  • Schedules accurate episodes, movies and versions in PTS grids; generates logs daily.
  • Exports PTS grid and cleans up export to prepare for mass distribution.
  • Reviews weekly listings and communicates with external partners to ensure accuracy.
  • Distributes schedules and schedule changes/updates to MTV Entertainment Group staff.
  • Screen, research and build episode schedules for stunts and events
  • Tracks sister networks airdate requests to avoid schedule overlap between networks.
  • Tracks competitive information for programming content on variety of platforms (broadcast, cable, streaming).
  • Researches and evaluates potential acquisition content to help drive ratings and support original content.
  • Serves as back-up to other coordinators on the team
  • Provides administrative support to senior teammates as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working in television planning/scheduling highly preferred, can include internship experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience using PTS software highly preferred
  • Resourceful and able to work effectively with little supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to handle various projects effectively.
  • Television enthusiast with passion for cable programming strongly desired.
  • Must be able to remain calm and composed when under pressure.
  • Must be able to work outside of a traditional work schedule if business needs dictate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $55,000.00 - 62,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
