Paramount’s Advertising, Global Sourcing and Enterprise Technology Group is seeking a highly motivated Counsel to join our team! In this role, you will provide transactional and advisory services to a wide variety of client groups, including research, multiplatform ad sales and operations, branded content, integrated marketing, influencer marketing, data licensing, anti-piracy and distribution.  This position will work on a variety of complex transactions for various business areas across all Paramount programming services, including BET, CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, the Paramount+ subscription service and the Pluto TV FAST service. 

 

Responsibilities:

•    Structure, draft and negotiate data licensing and research services agreements, enterprise software and software-as-a-service licenses, agreements relating to the purchase and sale of advertising across linear, digital and connected TV platforms, ad sales operations and strategy, talent and social influencer activations, intellectual property licenses, strategic alliances, integrated marketing agreements and distribution and license agreements in all media platforms  

•    Advise a broad range of client groups on a variety of complex business and legal matters, including responsibility for, or key involvement in, developing and implementing policies, practices and strategic initiatives across business and legal teams  

 

Basic Qualifications: 

•    3+ years of relevant large law firm and/or media, advertising or technology company experience 

•    J.D. from accredited law school; excellent academic credentials

•    New York bar membership 

 

Additional Qualifications: 

•    Knowledge of advertising technology, integrated marketing, influencer marketing, research, software and technology services and/or digital media 

•    Experience with software licensing and development, ad sales operations, social media, data licensing, privacy, copyright and other intellectual property laws, anti-piracy, distribution, licensing and/or entertainment law

•    Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and organizational skills

•    Ability to cover a high volume of deals and work independently; strong work ethic

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $135,000.00 - 165,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
