Overview:
Activation is a group dedicated to campaign development and execution across Viacom’s Ad Solutions. We partner with the Pitch and Creative teams to develop integrated marketing solutions that drive upfront and scatter budgets. Then, lead the activation of partner programs across all Viacom screens and networks (except BET), in collaboration with channel constituents. In addition, we manage all campaign work regarding Upfront Advertisers with sold marketing and an identified property, from pitch through activation.
As Director, you will manage client-facing activation of linear, digital and social media marketing programs for the MTV Entertainment Group. You will interact with cross-disciplinary teams including clients, media agencies, Ad Solutions, creative, production, social media, editorial, legal, and external vendors.
Directors work with Ad Solutions Account Executives to find opportunities and solve problems. They help meet company and client goals. They also lead the team for all marketing program components. This includes ideas, creation, activation, and fulfillment. You will manage specific processes. This includes vetting ideas with key departments. You will secure partner materials and assets. Additionally, you will build promotional strategies for social media. Finally, you will supervise the production of custom content on all platforms.
Responsibilities:

Be the main contact for RFP responses

Lead creative briefings and collaborate with others

Review concepts with the necessary teams, create campaign elements, confirm production budgets, and help with presentations when needed

Develop and package proactive marketing opportunities tied to show IP and cultural events utilizing insights, research, and social platform expertise

Lead all parts of activation for your marketing programs after the sell-in

Managing agency and client partners

Work with the Creative team and other channel teams to produce and deliver content

Manage timelines and prepare pre-production materials

Represent client needs on set while overseeing the campaign launch

Work together with media activation and cultural intelligence teams on reporting

Be the main contact for assigned properties and event

Work with the channel teams to understand their production plans and needs

Collaborate on sponsorship opportunities during shows and at other times

Show points then help prepare sales materials to pitch these opportunities

Identify best practices to apply to the team’s day-to-day efforts

Mentor coordinators and assistants
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
-
8 + years’ experience in publisher, integrated marketing and/or agency experience

Creative writing skills in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills

Unique balance of disciplined strategic thinking and creative passion

Ability to manage both up and down

A wizard in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task

A problem solver attitude and the desire to tackle projects with the gusto of a startup employee

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 155,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
