Overview

Paramount’s Advertising Sales, Sourcing and Enterprise Technology Group is seeking a highly motivated Director to join our Business & Legal Affairs team. In this role, you will support transactional and advisory functions across broad, cross-functional client groups, including corporate, brand and ad sales research, multiplatform advertising sales and operations, branded content and integrated marketing, influencer marketing,data licensing, anti-piracy, and distribution. You will work on a variety of complex transactions for various business areas across all Paramount programming services.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key business partner to cross-functional teams groups representing all Paramount programming services by identifying operational needs, supporting deal workflows, and helping guide decision-making.
  • Support the development and implementation of business processes, policies, and best practices that align with broader Business & Legal Affairs objectives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data licensing and research services agreements, enterprise software and SaaS licenses, advertising agreements (linear, digital, CTV), insertion orders, non-disclosure agreements, data protection agreements, and agreements relating to ad sales operations, talent and influencer activations (including social media terms and conditions), integrated marketing, and distribution across all media platforms.
  • Maintain and update contract templates; create new templates as needed.
  • Assist SVP of BALA with marketing initiatives, including influencer agreements and special projects.
  • Manage a high volume of deals and prioritize workload independently.


Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience, including 3+ years’ experience autonomously drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements and amendments as a contracts director, manager, paralegal, or similar role.
  • Experience in advertising technology, integrated marketing, influencer marketing, research/data, software/technology services, and digital media.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing/development, ad sales operations, social media, data licensing, privacy, copyright/IP laws, anti-piracy, distribution, licensing, and entertainment.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high volume of deals, prioritize workload, and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. from accredited law school preferred; excellent academic credentials.


Additional Qualifications

  • In-house experience preferred; law firm/private practice experience managing transactional matters and direct client interaction considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $130,000.00 - 155,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
