Our Advanced Technology Program Management Office (APMO) is seeking a highly motivated Director, Program Management that will supply to the success of our Program Delivery team supporting Data Engineering. This person will work closely with the data engineering team, collaborators, and lead a team of project managers, program managers, scrum masters, and Agile coaches.
 

For this role, being able to provide insight into the body of work in progress and planned, in order to communicate roadmaps and status for executives, senior leadership and the wider collaborator group is key.
 

  • Work in a matrixed environment, acting as liaison between engineering, PMO and product, while building strategic partnerships with all key department leaders
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to identify and interpret trends in data sets to tell a compelling story about our employees, provide insight into engineering work, quantitatively work load and efficiency, and inform broader decision making across the Organization
  • Translate business and team priorities into actionable short and long term staffing plans while partnering with Talent Acquisition to recruit, select and hire top talent
  • People leadership, mentoring, unblocking and developing a team of program management and agile experts.
  • Manage risk, resolve impediments, as well as cross-program/project issues with senior partners.
  • Provide portfolio and program progress against organizational strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure Initiatives are being tracked and managed; provide portfolio and program level status reporting by leading communication through dashboards and regularly updates to team via email, and ongoing presentations.
  • Ensure teams are tracking information throughout the year and quarter, gathering information in order to draft quarterly business review presentations (QBRs) and related documentation.
  • Helping engineering teams draft and update objectives and key results status, aligning deliverables (outputs) to program outcomes in concert with Executive and Business goals.
  • Lead transformational change in support of streamlining program practices, metrics and standards.
  • Express complex concepts clearly in simple written terms and with visuals, through routinely drafting workflows, and presentations to express concepts, and to support change management.
  • Managing risks, issues and dependencies while taking corrective measures.
  • Coordinate project activities, project plans, monitoring, and timelines.
  • Ensuring program documentation is up to date.
  • Setting up tools and standards for managing programs.
     

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years in an Agile, program management, engineering and/or product management capacity.

  • 7+ years working directly within a technology organization support consumer software products

  • 5+ years of people management experience leading high-performing teams to deliver technical initiatives from inception to delivery

  • Profession-Level certs, Advanced Agile Certificates, and/or SPC

  • Experience managing other program managers under a larger portfolio

  • Cloud Data Warehousing Technology:  Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS and Google GCP

  • BI Visualization Tools:  Tableau, Google Looker

  • Data Catalog Tools:  Erwin, Alation

  • Privacy Policy & Technology:  Ontrust,  Global Privacy Consideration, Managing PII, Data Governance, Consumer Consent 
     

Degree or relevant working experience
 

  • Experienced communication skills in both verbal and written form.
  • Experience leading multiple teams in a large, complex delivery environment with a deep understanding of Agile.
  • Proficiency and a solid understanding of SDLC.
  • High proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Kanban boards, Program Dashboards, Dependency & Risk Management.
  • Ability to run JQL, track metrics, visualize roadmaps, and generate status reports.
  • Agile Certification, preferably advanced (e.g. PMI-ACP, Professional-Level Scrum Alliance Certification, or SPC).
     

Additional Qualifications

  • Scaled Agile such as SAFe or equivalent.
  • Previous experience supporting data engineering teams.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer entertainment, media products, and/or projects within Mobile, Desktop, OTT, and Smart TV screens and specifically their backend architectures.
  • Flexible work schedule as this role will be working with Global teams, with a need to align with East Coast, West Coast & Central Europe.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $150,000.00 - 195,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
