Noggin is a leading learning service for families with preschoolers. We deliver streaming and interactive learning content that helps young kids develop skills, knowledge and passions through play with the characters they love. We also help parents help their kids thrive. A direct-to-consumer offering available on 10+ platforms, Noggin reaches families in the domestic market through standalone mobile apps, connected TV apps, and add-on channels. The role:

Are you interested in applications that will have an impact with parents and young children? Noggin is seeking a leader to oversee our API and web development. You will define the strategy to deliver scalable, complex world-class solutions with high-quality code and a rich set of features including streaming video, educational games and parent engagement.


  • Be responsible for high quality releases across all of Noggin’s web work streams, including client-facing web application, data transformation jobs and APIs powering our web and mobile solutions.
  • Lead and develop a fantastic team of engineers; mentor and coach employees to nurture top talent; create and/or source training to improve developer skills.
  • Define and implement software development within the team such as coding standards, code reviews, source code control, build processes, testing, deployment and operations.
  • Partner with other internal teams to deliver end-to-end solutions (creative, product, engineering, program management)
  • Work with third party staffing partners to manage supplemental talent needs
  • Establish individual learning and career growth plans for each engineering teammate.
  • Continually learn and explore emerging technologies with an eye toward how they could benefit Noggin’s future product vision.
  • Partner with Paramount engineering teams to assess and leverage tools and processes where it makes sense for Noggin, and ensure that Noggin stays aligned with company development standards and best practices.
  • Embrace company standard CI/CD tools and methodologies (Jenkins, Github, Jira, etc.), and introduce new ones where appropriate.
  • Adhere to and advocate for documented company and industry standards, for example: ADA, COPPA, GDPR, FERPA and Information Security


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years experience managing a successful distributed development team
  • 5+ years experience managing web and server side development
  • Experience in JAVA, Microservices, Spring, and other backend technologies.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and developing
  • Effective collaborator and communicator with an ability to explain technical concepts in business terms





Hiring Salary Range: $190,000.00 - 220,000.00. 


The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
