Overview and Responsibilities
The CBS Sports Network Video Editor is responsible for the editing of live and archived video content acquired by CBS Sports for the creation of sports highlight packages, remote production elements, feature pieces and long form programs. The candidate should have a strong background in sports video editing, and experience creating both high-quality and engaging content for broadcast.
Day-to-day responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Edit sports highlights, documentary features, and remote packages with precision and creativity.
- Work with Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Suite tools for seamless editing.
- Perform color correction, grading, and enhancement to maintain cohesive visual style.
- Mix and edit audio tracks, ensuring clarity and synchronization with visuals.
- Solid understanding of motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and content teams to meet creative goals.
- Optimize video content for broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
- Manage file organization, storage, and workflow efficiency.
- Effectively use MAM systems and workflows for the proper acquisition, distribution and archiving of video content.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in video editing for sports, documentaries, or related fields.
- Proven track record of editing high-quality sports highlights and feature-length documentaries.
- Experience working with remote production teams and handling multi-camera footage.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of storytelling techniques in sports and documentary filmmaking.
- Experience with audio mixing, sound design, and noise reduction techniques.
- Ability to edit with motion graphics, lower thirds, and animated transitions.
- Understanding of camera formats, frame rates, and aspect ratios for professional editing.
- Ability to work a varied schedule (Sun. – Sat. & Day or Night Shifts)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 81,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
