Overview & Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join the CBS Entertainment and Sports Digital team! This role is essential to maintaining and ensuring the ongoing and future financial success at both Entertainment and Sports digital.Additionally, this person will play a key part in month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, as well as various ad hoc analyses.
We are an enthusiastic group helping to lead the future of media and technology by providing Financial Planning support to the CBS Digital properties. The CBS Digital FP&A department works closely with various groups across the sports and central groups to help budget and manage strategic initiatives across the organization. The FP&A team is responsible for budgeting and forecasting revenue and expenses to help support higher level business decisions. We also model out new initiatives and monitor key KPIs to determine the health of the many aspects of the Sports and Entertainment Digital business. As CBS digital continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a leader for our Financial Planning & Analysis team to support our Entertainment and Sports business. Our Executive leadership relies heavily on the Financial Planning & Analysis team to shape strategy and inform important business decisions with actionable data-driven insights.
In this role, you will need to be a visionary self-starter who will collaborate with various strategic partners across the Sports and Entertainment business. As the Financial Planning and Analysis analyst, you will be able to work effectively, autonomously and drive strategy and effective decision making cross-functionally with Data Products, Yield, Engineering, Product, Business Intelligence, and Accounting. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and feel comfortable manipulating large data sets to generate actionable insights and results.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- You’ll be responsible for the budgeting and forecasting of the CBS digital business.
- You’ll be responsible for creating complex financial models to support the budgeting, forecasting and expansion of the CBS Sports and Entertainment digital business
- You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day financial oversight of the digital business
- You’ll manage the close, forecast and budgeting for the digital P&Ls collaborating closely with FP&A and Accounting every month
- You’ll be responsible for many revenue streams on the digital P&L for Sports and Entertainment
- You’ll create strategic value-added analyses around growth opportunities, expense optimization, and core business metrics and to drive better decisions and results
- You’ll monitor all revenue drivers and analyze key predictors, identify trends and present actionable insights to the Finance and executive team respectively
Basic Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years of experience in highly analytical environment – digital media FP&A, finance, consulting firm, investment bank, corporate strategy
- P&L management experience required
- Strong communicator with the ability to moderate based on audience and demonstrate an ability to partner with a range of cross functional partners
- Expert/advanced expertise in excel, and experience in preparing complex financial models and manipulating large datasets
- BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field preferred
- Ambitious, strong work ethic, accurate and attention to detail required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
