In This Role You’ll:
We at Paramount Skydance are looking for our next great Lead Engineer, Production Platforms! The role emphasizes maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and scalability of broadcast production systems by integrating software, hardware, and IT operations principles. This involves crafting and building infrastructure, developing automation tools, and participating in strategic decision-making regarding production technology.
Responsibilities Include:
- Automate manual operational tasks, build internal tooling, and manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform or Ansible to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
- Design and manage systems for streaming video content over the internet, ensuring alignment with new technologies and trends in the streaming industry to maintain groundbreaking capabilities.
- Maintain and control computer networks and related computing environments, as well as software, storage, hardware, and configurations.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems by implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and proactive analysis strategies.
- Proactively collaborate with Broadcast Engineering and IT operations teams to break down silos, improve communication, and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, participate actively in project discussions, and promote best practices throughout the organization.
Basic Qualifications You Bring:
- Requires 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) or in a related field.
- Extensive technical expertise in operating systems, databases, system integration and administration.
- Extensive experience with VDI and storage.
- In-depth expertise in programming languages, including Python, Java, and Ruby.
- Strong proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, content delivery networks (CDNs), and network protocols.
- Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot complex issues in both video and IT domains.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $155,000.00 - 160,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
