Lead ios/tvOS Developer

Job Description: CBS Sports, News and Stations is looking for someone that can act as a Platform Lead with solid ios/tvOS experience. The ideal candidate will have experience writing Apple tvOS applications and has worked with streaming video. As a part of the video team you will work with talented developers designing and building out the next generation of CBS Sports online video products. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a winning attitude, innovative coding skills and proven teamwork experience.

In this position you will:

• Support the successful distribution of live streaming events.
• Work closely with the wider data, engineering and product teams cross-functionally to implement innovative solutions.
• Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineering leadership to craft best-of-class, delightful TV-watching experiences.
• Debug, optimize and integrate CBS developed API calls that integrate rich media, video, ad serving and analytics.
• Lead initiatives across the company, working closely with other OTT platform, mobile and backend engineers.
• Have a deep understanding of the iOS and tvOS SDKs, Swift, app and view lifecycles, thread management, and animation.
• Develop the architectural direction specializing in features tvOS has to offer our customers.
• Demonstrate engineering excellence by developing test infrastructures, writing documentation, ensuring high performance, and following an agile development methodology.
• Have Experience with Apple’s AVKit framework, HLS and DVR functions (trick modes etc).
• Have experience in managing a large, dynamic catalog of streams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $150,000.00 - 175,000.00. 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
