OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Paramount Creative & Strategy is seeking a temporary Manager, Copywriting to join our team!
The Manager, Copywriting is responsible for developing and writing creative materials that position Paramount for all audiences including employees, advertisers, investors, press and consumers. You will be responsible for adhering to budgets on each specific creative project, which can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. This position adheres to strict project deadlines, avoiding late charges and allowing for quick release of creative assets.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the company (Paramount’s business, priorities, and strategies), the media/entertainment industry and the connections between the two. They can clearly articulate corporate, divisional, and brand strategy and have excellent writing, organizational and communication skills. We’re looking for someone who can drive the creative and strategic aspects of complex and high-profile projects from start to finish, develop strong strategic foundations for effective creative concepts and work across the department to collaborate with all teams. Work M-F/9:30a-6:30p. The team is hybrid in NYC working Tuesdays & Wednesdays in-office and the other days remote.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop multiplatform campaigns and single ads; event and marketing collateral; name and tagline generation; scripting (live and video), mid- and long-form editorial pieces and more.
- Collaborate with team to generate creative/brand strategies and marketing plans that guide and deliver creative in the most effective way possible.
- Writes materials that creatively bring Paramount brand, priorities, initiatives, programs and more to life in ways that drive action.
- Manage copy and content process from start to finish.
- Supervise interns and junior writers as needed.
- Develop and deliver presentations of work to both internal Creative & Strategy approvers and external partners.
- Work with Project Managers to ensure direction, deadlines and budgets are met on each project.
- Meet regularly with editorial/brand strategy team to discuss process, creativity, strategy, departmental and company priorities and more.
- Proofread all self-generated copy, checking for accuracy, consistency, spelling, grammar and style.
- Build client relationships and develop strong working partnerships.
- Partner with people at all levels across the company, including leadership, to ensure strategic and creative excellence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree; English, Advertising or Marketing majors preferred
- 5+ years demonstrated work experience in copywriting, advertising, creative concepting, campaigns, editorial writing, strategic branding, speech/scriptwriting
- Knowledge of Apple operating system and experience with software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Apple Keynote; and Slack
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agency and media work experience a plus
- Developing and writing original, creative work that effectively communicate a client’s business objectives
- Maintaining overall editorial and brand guidelines/style
- Collaborating within and across various subject areas and departments including design, digital, video, project management and production
- Meeting deadlines, working well under pressure, and balancing many projects at the same time
- Writing in a variety of styles (ad copywriting, speech writing, long-form editorial writing, etc.) while adhering to Paramount brand voice (on most projects)
- Experience presenting work
- Ensuring accuracy on all self-generated materials
- Staying up to date with company and industry priorities and news

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $48.0 - 55.0. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
