With aggressive goals that include the expansion of our US Operations and a commitment to Internationalization and Interplanetary entertainment, Pluto TV is growing the Architecture Team to scale for the incredible road ahead.

The ideal candidate has a passion for building teams of engineers and architects, and for building applications that span multiple platforms and form factors.

In this role you will design systems, components, and processes to provide answers to the following questions and more:

How do we maintain Application feature parity across dozens of platforms?

How will design core services patterns that can be used by many microservices?

When do we abstract and when do we specialize with native implementations?

How do we rapidly innovate our Application features?

How do we measure our Application’s performance in production?

How do we automatically test our Applications in a CI/CD pipeline?

What changes do we need on back-end APIs to support new Application features?

What metrics should we collect?



Contributing to the roadmap for Core Services Architecture and Application features.

For new features and initiatives, refining the requirements and proposing the required changes needed throughout the entire software stack to support them.

Guiding the introduction of new technologies to support Pluto TV’s growing platform base.

Finding weaknesses in application code and back-end APIs and offering proposals to strengthen them.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience

5+ years of industry experience developing highly reliable software services that handle billions of daily transactions.

5 + years building high volume, scalable, cloud based real-time services in cloud (AWS/GCP/AZURE).

5+ years experience developing microservices based services using Golang, JavaScript, Node.js, databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.


Additional Qualifications:

Experience using distributed caching technology such as redis.

Familiar with EKS ( Kubernetes ) and containerization technologies such as Dockers.

Understanding of containerization as it relates it Cloud (Kubernetes, Docker)

Experience using event driven frameworks such as solace is a plus.

Understanding and using Terraform/TerraGrant scripting is a plus.

Experience in the digital video workflows or digital video technology development is a plus.

Hiring Salary Range: $120,000.00 - 175,000.00. 


The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
