The National Accounts Manager position within the Special Markets department will work with the Special Markets Director to reach and exceed yearly sales goals.  In this position, the National Accounts Manager will work closely with accounts in the territory to secure placement opportunities for wholly-owned and client publisher titles.  The sales person will create sales presentations and present to existing accounts on a seasonal/regular basis and will prospect and open new accounts and find new business opportunities within the existing account base.  The position will also include monitoring account and industry trends to identify opportunities for frontlist and backlist sales.  This person will negotiate the best deals on the publishers’ behalf, will work closely with the S&S warehouses and client managers to avoid chargebacks, and will communicate regularly with sales management, supply chain, and publishers regarding highlights, successes and challenges, placement opportunities, inventory and estimates, and meeting/title updates.

•    Minimum 2-3 years of experience in book publishing sales, preferably within Special Markets 
•    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
•    Ability to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

The annual salary for this position is $75,000.00 - $75,000.00 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
