Simon & Schuster Audio is seeking a Publicist/Senior Publicist to join our enthusiastic and collaborative Marketing & Publicity team. In this role, the ideal candidate will develop and execute title-specific publicity campaigns for original audio titles and standout traditional audiobook publications.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Pitching, and securing broadcast, print, and digital media; writing press releases; and increasing review coverage, particularly for Simon & Schuster Audio’s growing list of original recordings (to date this includes productions from Bob Woodward, Julie Chen Moonves, Star Trek, Christina Lauren, Stephen Graham Jones, William Kent Krueger, and JR Ward).
• Building strong relationships externally with media and across imprint publicity departments; coordinating on media opportunities to incorporate audio clips, behind-the-scenes footage and other elements in serials and other coverage.
• Planning author/narrator online or in-person events as appropriate.
• Cultivating coverage from new media outlets.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years publicity experience preferably in the publishing space, should include demonstrated ability to build and execute highly successful media campaigns for new books or audiobooks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Possess strong existing relationships with national and major market media.
• Excellent time management skills with a strong ability to juggle multiple ongoing projects, detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines, and work independently with good follow-up and follow-through.
• A positive attitude.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
• Connections with book/audiobook influencers a plus.
• Video editing skills also a plus.

The annual salary for this position is $58,500.00 - $73,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
