We are seeking a transformative Sales Manager for WCBS-TV & WLNY-TV to drive revenue growth across transactional, new business, and streaming. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership and be passionate about cultivating a positive team culture while shaping innovative, future-focused sales strategies across all platforms, including 27 O&O stations and Paramount Global streaming inventory. The Sales Manager (SM) will lead the WCBS sales team to develop and implement strategic plans that drive revenue growth. This role includes managing key client relationships, optimizing sales team performance, and collaborating across departments to ensure success in our advertising efforts. Will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of multi-platform television advertising, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Development: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of account executives to achieve and exceed sales targets. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and training to foster a high-performance culture.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals. Identify new business opportunities, build customized sales proposals, and negotiate with local advertisers.
- New business: Drive new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and pursuing potential clients through proactive outreach and strategic engagement.
- Client Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with key clients, agencies, and local businesses. Provide excellent customer service, understand client needs, and offer innovative advertising solutions that align with their objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, news, and digital, to build integrated sales campaigns that demonstrate the full range of WCBS Television’s media assets.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adjust strategies and capitalize on new opportunities. Conduct regular analysis of sales data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Revenue Management: Lead inventory, pricing, and rate negotiations to improve revenue. Monitor sales performance against objectives and report regularly to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in media sales, with at least 2 years in a sales management role.
- Strong understanding of local television linear and digital marketing strategies.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing successful sales teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Wide Orbit Traffic/Sales, Nielsen and ComScore.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $225,000.00 - 275,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
