The Senior Director of Pricing & Inventory for Broadcast Ad Sales is a professional who has the ability and skills to oversee all aspects of the P&I group (also known as Planning). The Senior Director will supervise four Planning Managers and ten Planners, and reports to the SVP of Pricing & Inventory.

 

  • Oversee CBS Broadcast Network selling estimates, price lists, and stewardship under the direction of the P&I SVP and Daypart VPs.
  • Develop Upfront & Scatter pricing structures based on revenue maximization, liability management, and inventory optimization and with respect to category considerations and marketplace conditions.
  • Review proposals for commercial placement in both the Upfront and Scatter marketplaces with respect to adhering to client specs and clearing internal parameters.
  • Assist Daypart VPs in yield management and form strategies to exceed sales goals based on financial targets.
  • Well-versed in financial modeling/analysis, and valuation support for media inventory and other ad-hoc projects in collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Extensive use of Nielsen, VideoAmp, iSpot, and Comscore ratings systems and Excel spreadsheets to perform trending analyses.
  • Expected to directly contact all of Ad Sales, including senior management, additionally liaising with various departments, including, but not limited to Research, Finance, Programming, and Traffic.
  • Coordinate with convergent selling on Cable and Digital as needed, principally via the Vantage and Fusion platforms.
  • Consistently evaluate internal systems and procedures to assist with comprehension, efficiencies, and transparency on intra- and inter-departmental bases.
  • Ability and willingness to be hands-on, dive into details, identify and recognize issues, and offer multiple solution paths.
  • Hire and train the next generation of Sales Planners, with an eye towards developing future Account Managers and Account Executives.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Pricing & Inventory/Planning experience; including managing a team, developing Planning strategies, and modeling sales forecasts.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to encourage others to achieve desired results.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $145,000.00 - 165,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.  This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
