Overview & Responsibilities:

CBS Digital is seeking a Senior Director of Business Operations to assist in the management of CBS News Digital’s portfolio of businesses and lead efforts to measure and report on key business metrics, revenue goals, and costs targets. This role will report to the Vice President of Business Operations and Strategy for CBS Digital and will work closely with the leads of each business unit to set and measure goals and performance as it aligns to annual plans. The role will also work closely with Business Intelligence, Yield, and Finance teams to create reports, track goals, and monitor the health of the news business portfolio. New York/Remote.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setting, tracking and reporting on comprehensive business goals that drive business performance and growth
  • Collaborating closely with Sr. Management from CBS News on creation of annual strategy presentations and budget plans
  • Establishing policies, meetings, and reporting that drive accountability and results for each business unit
  • Coordinating daily reports and goal tracking for businesses and job functions (e.g. editorial, marketing)
  • Evaluating and communicating business unit performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Identifying and presenting strategic opportunities and areas of business importance
  • Evaluating expansion opportunities such as investments, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
  • Working with Business Intelligence to build and send reports that track key goals and monitor core business health
  • Working with Ad Yield to build and send reports that track advertising goals, impressions, CPMs, and delivery
  • Working with Business Development on modeling new business opportunities and building recommendations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities!
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus!
