Senior Director of Product Management, Merchandising
Overview:
Paramount+ is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management, Merchandising to lead how audiences discover and engage with content across our global streaming platform. This role defines the global strategy and aligns teams around execution for content promotion, curation enablement, and personalization across all platforms. This is to ensure that editorial intent, data intelligence, and product capabilities work collectively to deliver intuitive, compelling viewer experiences at scale. Operating at the intersection of Product, Programming, Machine Learning, Design, and Operations, this role will translate business and content priorities into measurable merchandising outcomes that boosts interaction, retention, and long‑term subscriber value worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and own the global merchandising and content presentation strategy across all content types, platforms, and markets.
- Translate business and content priorities into a clear merchandising roadmap aligned to quarterly and annual OKRs.
- Lead the operationalization of merchandising at scale, establishing end‑to‑end workflows that support global execution while enabling local relevance.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering and Applied Machine Learning (AMLG) leads to shape feature ideation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and roadmap decisions informed by merchandising insights.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting to surface insights and drive continuous optimization.
- Drive experimentation, ensuring readiness for A/B and multivariate testing through solid metadata, creative, and operational foundations.
- Partner with Content Services and Programming teams to ensure metadata quality, taxonomy alignment, and system integrity across internal and consumer‑facing tools.
- Act as a senior connective leader across Programming, Marketing, Product, AMLG, Design, and Business Insights to ensure strategic alignment.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a lean, high‑performing merchandising team, setting clear standards for execution, communication, and accountability.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience leading consumer‑facing digital products or experiences at scale, preferably in streaming, media, or entertainment.
- 5+ years of experience managing and developing high‑performing product, merchandising, or content teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Deep experience with CMS platforms, curation frameworks, and media‑centric information architecture.
- Strong fluency in metadata‑driven workflows, data systems, and platform dependencies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business and user experience insights.
- Solid comprehension of personalization systems and recommendation algorithms, including applied machine learning concepts.
- Hands-on experience operating in complex scaled Agile environments and working with modern collaboration tools.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive, technical, and creative stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Experience leading merchandising or content discovery for a global streaming platform.
- Deep knowledge with Connected TV, Mobile, and Web discovery patterns.
- Strong experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Proven track record spearheading experimentation and optimization through A/B and multivariate testing.
- Technical or data‑oriented academic background (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related).
- Experience operating across multiple international markets and time zones.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $203,000.00 - 225,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
