Overview:
247Sports is a digital enterprise focused on delivering original college sports, recruiting and transfer portal news on a team-by-team basis to passionate college sports fans through a spectrum of platforms. 

Role Details 
We are looking for a new team member who is passionate about Florida State Seminoles football recruiting, transfer portal, football and roster management coverage.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well in a team environment and has strong communication skills. In this role, you play a key part in our Florida State Seminoles football recruiting and transfer portal site coverage – providing content for our Florida State Seminoles fans and our premium subscribers along with interacting with them on our message boards. 
 
Your Day-to-Day 

• Report and provide premium written updates on Florida State Seminoles football recruiting This includes interviewing high school football prospects over the phone or in person at events and tracking FSU’s targets both from high school and college players in the transfer portal.
• Post on team site message board communities and interact with fans by providing news, analysis and insight on Florida State Seminoles football recruiting.
• Contribute to site features and content not only for football recruiting, but football as well.
• Cover Florida State football camps and other regional recruiting camps and combines as well high school games that include Florida State football targets.
• Provide player evaluation feedback to 247Sports scouting team for player rankings.
• Add and update prospects in the 247Sports player database with the most up-to-date information on high school and transfer portal prospects.

Key Projects

• Build relationships and develop sources with Florida State sources to provide premium information and break news. 
• Provide original and quality recruiting content to help grow team site audience, subscriptions and message board community. 
• Work with national editorial to provide comprehensive coverage on national Florida State Seminoles recruiting news.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Experience covering and reporting on college football recruiting 
• Must be able to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends 
• Experience in multimedia and social media, especially shooting and editing video and photos. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities 

Preferred 

• Experience with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook 
• Experience on camera for video hits for our various video platforms including YouTube.
• Experience doing podcasts

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $50,000.00 - 75,000.00. 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
